Solar Powered Oven can help people in countries where there is very little electricity and lots of sun. The function of the oven is to convert the sun’s energy into thermal energy which will bake the food. The oven is made from everyday items like a shoe box lined inside with tinfoil. A black cardboard is also placed inside the box on which is placed a food item covered with a glass bowl (oven). The black cardboard absorbs the thermal heat and the glass bowl retains the heat. The food is cooked when the direct and reflected (from tinfoil) sun’s rays are focused on the glass bowl. (107 words)
