Mawlana Hazar Imam receives Carnegie Medal for Philanthropy & Golden Jubilee Visit to United Kingdom – 4 October 2005
This week in history, Mawlana Hazar Imam was among six recipients of the Andrew Carnegie Medal of Philanthropy. He was awarded the medal by Mary Robinson, former President of Ireland and former UN High Commissioner for Human Rights, and now Director of the Ethical Globalisation Initiative, noting that Mawlana Hazar Imam's "values of pluralism, multiculturalism, and strengthening civil society, are those we must all emulate."
