After many years of anticipation, designs of the Ismaili Center in Houston were presented at a special event hosted in Houston, Texas. Design architect Farshid Moussavi and landscape architect Thomas Woltz shared plans for the site's building and gardens. Also present at the event were civic officials, leaders from civil society, and the media.

Dr. Karen Armstrong, an internationally acclaimed scholar and best-selling author of numerous books on religion, delivered the keynote address at the Ismaili Centre, Dubai. Organised jointly by The Ismaili Centre and UAE Ministry of Tolerance, Dr. Armstrong spoke about the Charter of Compassion which she launched with religious leaders globally. The Charter has over two million signatures and brings to light the reason and urgency of practicing compassion in a polarised world.
On 18th December 2018 His Excellency the President of Portugal, Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa, attended the Ismaili Centre Lisbon 20th anniversary where he inaugurated the exhibition “The Ismaili Centre: 20 Years Celebrating Pluralism,” and planted an olive tree in the surrounding Garden of Olives.
This month marks 35 years of the Ismaili Centre, Vancouver. Join us in celebrating this milestone through a series of online events.
Our second session features a special conversation with past and present institutional leaders. Moderated by CTV’s Nafeesa Karim, this promises to be an engaging discussion filled with insights into the history of the Ismaili Centre, alongside footage from the Centre’s archives.
Past Council for Canada President Farouk Verjee and past Council for British Columbia President Bahadur Karim will share their experiences and fondest memories of the Centre’s opening ceremony. Discover the vision, conversations, and experiences that helped establish the Ismaili Centre, Vancouver as a keystone of our community in Canada. The session will close with Council for British Columbia President Samir Manji offering his reflections on the Ismaili Centre, Vancouver.
The Ismaili Centres are proud to present Visionary Voices: Conversations on the 35th Anniversary of the Ismaili Centre, Vancouver. Please join us for a special event featuring a discussion with former Prime Minister of Canada Brian Mulroney. Mr. Mulroney reflects back on the vision for the Centre, its significance as a symbol of the Ismaili community's contributions to Canada, and its untapped potential to fulfill even more of these hopes and aspirations in the years ahead.
In March 2008, Mawlana Hazar Imam travelled to the United Arab Emirates for a Golden Jubilee visit. During the busy four day trip, Mawlana Hazar Imam met with the Jamat and presided over the historic opening of the Ismaili Centre Dubai.

The Aga Khan Centre was opened by HRH The Prince of Wales in the presence of Mawlana Hazar Imam on 26 June 2018 at an inauguration ceremony in Kings Cross, London, during Hazar Imam's Diamond Jubilee visit to the United Kingdom.
